james shanahan
Hello everyone, I have gone through most of the threads regarding the different compensators in this forum and have one question. Which one is better, bull barrel with a scew-on comp or a cone!? I have been shooting steel (limited) and am finally going open and am trying to decide which route to go. Thanks! \ James
Will Abrahams
i dont believe any one is "better" its just preference. When Dave Dawson was building me a gun he explained it like this... the bull will be about 1-2 ounces heavier and about 1/4 inch longer, b/c of the extra space behind the first comp opening. i have heard these were more in favor with the old 175 PF. the cone on the other hand has become popular with the 165 PF, and being a bit lighter helps with transitions. hope that helps some...
