Eager
I think the horseshoe shaped clip at the top of my Dillon sizing die came off and now the guts (decapping pin) are hanging down. I haven't contacted Dillon yet, I will and I'm sure they'll help me get it fixed. But can anyone tell me what they think has happened. Here's a bad pic. Note the decapping pin guts hanging down and the hole at the top where there used to be a cylindrical bolt thing protruding being held by a horseshoe clip that is no longer there: Edited December 31, 2007 by Eager
al503
I have 3 dillon sizing dies and two of them chews through those e-clips (every 3-4K rounds) while the third has have never had an issue. I have no idea why it happens but I figure the clip is just being overworked. I just buy a handful of them when I place a dillon order and call it good. Too_Slow
Or you can just go to the local hardware store ( just make sure it is a REAL hardware store ) and buy a bunch of 1/4 inch E-clips. We had a thread about them a while back and that is the size of them. Brian
Eager
I'll see if I can find some 1/4-in "E" clips. Is that all that's happened here? The "E" clip came out? I just want to make sure that reinstalling a new clip is all I need to do.
Too_Slow
Yes it is just that the E-clip either broke or flew off. I have had it happen a couple of times and so has a freind of mine. Brian
Eager
Got some 1/4-in E-clips today at Lowe's and installed one. Yup, that was all it needed. I'm "back in business". Thanks.
