vluc
What with the Uniquetek micrometer powder tool, and the Redding micrometer seating die, is there such an animal as the micrometer crimping die?
kmitchl
Probably not the answer you are looking for, but when I'm using the Dillon seat and crimp dies once they are set for a particular bullet profile I remove the guts and use a depth mic to measure from the top of the die shell to the toolhead. I record these measurements in my load data along with bullet weight, bullet mfg, powder mfg, charge weight, etc. When I need to repeat the set up for the same load I use these measurements to set up the dies. Another simple way to make the final adjustments is the thread pitch of the die is 14 threads per inch, so one complete turn is about 0.072". Turning the die by one flat of the hex is 0.012" , half a flat is 0.006". Keith
