Patrick Sweeney Posted December 12, 2002 Share Posted December 12, 2002 Two types/levels of chamfering: .38/.357, as little as possible, and not on the extractor star at all. .45 as much as you feel comfortable with, including the extractor star. The .45 revolver chamfered exposes less case than a 1911 ramp does, and the extractor lifts the moon clip, not the case rim. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The other thought is, with ICORE loads the pressure is so low you'd have no case expansion, and cases would simply fall out when the revo is inverted. My gunsmith will only barely touch the cylinder and ejector star and It's not even enough to notice. I want as much chamfer as possible...Any suggestions?
