thunderstick
I just got a set of Heine sights (standard front) for a G34. When I installed the front and tighten down the front screw, it still wiggles. Is all I need is Loctite or is something else going on?
Duane Thomas
What do you mean "wiggles"? Front-to-rear? Side-to-side horizontally? Side-to-side laterally?
thunderstick
By wiggle I mean I can take the front site and move it side to side.
thunderstick
well, I got some locite and put it on. No more wiggle. Now I just need to shoot it and see if it stays.
Duane Thomas
I'm sure it will. Blue Loctite and Glock steel front sights make great friends.
Chuck Merriam
I had to put red on mine. You know how hot it gets up in front. It is not like you will need it to come off....if so break out the cigar lighter!
Suburban Commando
I just got a set of Heine sights (standard front) for a G34. When I installed the front and tighten down the front screw, it still wiggles. Is all I need is Loctite or is something else going on? You should have gotten your sights in a little zip-loc type baggie. Inside there should be the sights and a little card with instructions on how to install the sights. On the card it says something like, "If front sight is loose in the slide, try a drop of LocTite." What's the acronym? Something like RTFI? Coolduckboy
just loctite it. I had to same problem with one on my G17 and no matter how many times i tightened it, it still came loose. Put some loctite on that thing and it won't move unless you want it too.
Duane Thomas
Actually, I just Loctite the thing to start with. It's like a ritual: Get a Glock, knock off the crappy plastic sights, Loctite in the front, whip out the Glock sight pusher and install the rear. I can't count the number of times I've done that. Matt Griffin
Another thing: make sure the slide is perfectly clean around the sight hole. Old loctite or debris will keep the sight from fitting flush. H.
