JDBraddy
I've use a 15yo 550b, to load .45 ACP, .308 Win, .223 Rem, and .38 Super, but also have guns chambered for 9X19 and .380ACP. I might even add a .40 S&W to the lineup. I just bought a second press (550b) so I can leave one set up for small primers, and one set up for large primers. I know I can use the same shellplate and locator buttons for .380 that I use for .223 and the same shellplate/buttons for 9mm that I use for .38 Super. I believe I could even use the .38 Super dies to load .380, but would have to re-adjust them in the tool head to do so, but I am hesitant to do that, as It's a pain, and I like the way I have them set now. I am considering setting up quick change toolheads for each calibre. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?
open17
Seperate toolheads for each caliber. The only way to go. If money is a concern, swap powder measures from head to head for a while. Powder measure is the major expense in setting up seperate heads. 9mm and 40 use the same shell plate. Just swap the locater buttons when changing calibers. On the large primer machine there is a whole family of calibers that require just a head change. Shell plate and buttons are the same. 45 ACP, 308, 243, 30-06, etc.

And for Caliber Conversion crossovers: http://www.brianenos.com/pages/dillon/cal.conv.chart.html
