Bore Straightness Gage For Ar-15

Does anyone know where I can locate and buy a bore straightness gauge for .223 AR-15's.

You might try a reamer grinder. Someone like JGS or Pacific Tool and Gage. My curiosity has me, Why?

There is a gauge that is just a straight rod. You drop it through the barrel.

If the barrel is straight it falls right through.

If it is bent it sticks. Pretty simple process.

I am an armorer and need it in my arsenal of gauges to check during inspections.

I do know what they are. Now I know why you want one. Like I said, try JGS, or Pacific Tool and Gage. Good luck with the search.

These flks will make what you want fairly cheap. I've ordered stuff from them in my Job, USAF calibration lab.

All you need is a 6-8 inch plug gage. Just Specify the Diameter, if you don't know it, I'll check on monday and post back.

Thanks. These are also called a deltronic pin sometimes.

I called Deltronic, but they don't make them anymore. Of course.

I didn't know it would be this tough to find. They actually list this gauge in the military manuals. So I thought about looking it up in a manual, then web-search for that part number.

As far as the Min-Max number, I don't know what it is. I could also try to find time to check with one of the barrel manufacturers.
