downzero
Just wondering... There's a bunch of barrel manufacturers. Where does STI stack up? Why put a caspian slide and different barrel on a STI gun?
Mistral404
I have a Trojan in .45. In talking with Chris at STI, the Trojan was a 1.5 @ 25yds. It has gone back to him a couple of times. The first time he tighten the slide and frame a tad, the test target came back with 1.34 @ 25 yds. Recently I was shooting some plates at an indoor range-correct that I was trying to shoot plates at an indoor range and could not figure out why they were not falling. I was off to the right about 5 inches. Anyway, the point being, I hung some paper at 18 yds, using a supported rest [range bag] I was printing a ragged one hole for three shoots. It measured less than 1.3 inches. This was factory ammo. Gun Tests evaluation of the Trojan showed to have better than 1.5 @ 25yds. I guess it shoots better than I do, I do not know much about their bull barrel, but it seems to be reasonable priced. It would be nice to know who makes their barrels. warpspeed
The STI barrels are made overseas, I'm told. I can't remember where but I think it is somewhere in Asia. Almost any barrel will be accurate if fit right for atleast a couple of thousand rounds. The question is after 5K, is it still 1.5"? bountyhunter
I have a 9mm STI Trojan (stock) with about 20k rounds through it. It keeps shooting better as I get better at pulling the trigger. Because of old man eyes, I usually practice at 15 yards. I have shot many 5-shot groups under an inch at that range. The .40 Trojan Longslide I have is even more accurate.
