223 Brass With Ding

Depends... Is the ding a slice in the brass or just a dent? A slice would be a no-no, and dent might be just fine. If the ding isn't near the case web (near the extraction groove) or on the shoulder, it should be fine for reloading. If it's in either of those places I would pitch the brass. A lot of rifle brass gets a small dent on the case mouth during ejection, that's perfectly OK - the neck expander will remove that easily.

Beware though, most combat rifles have loose chambers and the brass had to expand a lot to grip the walls. This cuts the longevity of the brass by a large percent.

Jim, Greg is right, as an HK armorer I can tell you that the brass has taken a pounding coming out of the chamber.

I would pick a moderate load and load a few and try them, they should be just fine but then again I dont have enough experience to say yay or nay....
