kevin c
Getting my spares ordered up. Do the new Loaded Chamber Indicator bearings interchange with the old version in the same caliber? For that matter, do the different caliber versions interchange? Does it matter? Edited January 7, 2007 by kevin c
Jman
The LCI require a specific spring loaded bearing, model/caliber dependent... ...hope this helps, type: 'bearing' in the search window. http://glockparts.com/tab0/page/qtoy/Home/...gecode%253Dqtoy Jim
jmq4
Like JM said, the bearings are different. I just ordered bearing/LCI extractor, the LCI associated bearing looks shorter than the original, plunger is the same. Dont know if its cool or not, but have been buying from OMB Express Police Supply - bearing plus extractor was like $11-$12. kevin c
Okay, variation, please: Can I retrofit a new glock with the lci extractor and bearing with the old set up, just swap out the whole mess? Can I run that the other way around (new setup in the older gun)? I'd rather not have to buy separate sets of parts for older vs newer guns if I can help it. TIA, Kevin C
jmq4
My 3rd generation G17 had the old-style extractor (non-LCI) and bearing, I replaced it with the new style extractor (with LCI) and the 'correct' bearing. The extractor was chipped, thats why I changed it, and the LCI extractor was the same price as the non-LCI. The new extractor/bearing worked fine this past weekend (about 100 rounds without a failure to extract) - long-winded way of saying that both extractor/bearing setups worked fine in my G17 that I believe was manufactured in like 98 or something. To change from LCI to regular or vice versa in a newer gun, change the extractor and bearing. The spring and rod are common to both types. Trying to go to the LCI in a older gun is a problem. Glock changed extractor angles, and AFAIK there isn't a LCI extractor for the old square extractor guns.
