Some Safari specific info here: http://webkit.org/blog/

and here: http://developer.apple.com/internet/safari/faq.html

I think this may more directly pertain to what you are asking about how Safari handles clientside xml parsing: http://developer.apple.com/internet/webcon...xmlhttpreq.html

A lot of the source code used in Safari and other Apple web content apps can be found here in the working with the code section (because it's open source of course!): http://webkit.org/

Hope this helps ya'. Safari is a real mixed parentage Mutt and doesn't actually resemble any one specific browser family/style ;-)
