To those who own LDA's i heard that manually cockin the hammer will break a spring?

Is this true?

I opened up my lda and after putting it back together analized the cocking action. its like any 1911, the slide cocks the hammer when it travells backwards.

but with this pistol, the hammer returns forward for the next double action pull.

i cant see anything that will break if i hand cock the LDA but was warned against it.

Any experience on this? I emailed para but got no answer

yes it is true. it's in the users manual. i looked it up last year after i was beaten down for doing it to a friends lda.

ok its like this. they say that the small sping on the sear spring. the small coil spring will break if you hand cock it.

this is true if the grip safety is disengaged since it will bend on outwards towards the grip safety.

if the grip safety is depressed this wont happen.

any comments?

ok i checked and saw that the front sight seems to be a little higher than usual when it was refinished. it was installed incorrectly. ill dump the sight after christmas and have a fiber optic installed
