BOGA
XL 650 been using 650 the past 51/2 years without problem until now. Handle is pulled. Primer plate is pushed by the lever and a primer moves forward. The handle is pushed up. NOW THE PROBLEM STARTS THE LEVER STAYS FORWARD ON THE PRIMER PLATE SLOT FOR A WHILE AND SUDDENLY SNAPS BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POSITION BUT A LITTLE OFFSET AND PRIMER IS NOT ALIGNED TO THE BRASS. IF I CONTINUE THE PROCESS, I CRUSH THE PRIMER. Most of the time when that happens, I push the lever forward a little bit until the primer is aligned with the brass. This doesnt happen to me before. What could be the cause. I cleaned the primer plate and the assembly but its the same.
Too_Slow
By the decription that you gave it sounds like the primer disk is not indexing all the way. The index pawl or another part may have gotten bent or broken. That is where I would start checking first. It is also possible that the priming section just needs lubing as well.
