I know these questions have been asked and answered several times, but I can't find the answers I'm looking for.

I have a para framed 38 super. I need to know where to get 170mm mags, what spring to use, cut to what length.

Also what do you guys load. I will use montana gold bullets and vita-vit powder.

hi,

STI used to manufacture 170mm magazines for Para but this was discontinued. So you're options are either to find a used one for sale or have two mags welded together. Somewhere in this forum, there is a smith who can do this (did it with caspian mags).

I'm using the one manufactured by STI along with a Gramms spring kit. I got it from shooters connection.

Grams springs and followers, your choice of base pads.

I use a MG 124 JHP with win rifle primers and either 8.0 grains of True Blue, or 7.8 grains of 3n37, at 1.165 Both give me 168-170 PF out of my 5 inch gun.

Give Beven Grams a call. He will discuss your options for your Para. He has helped me over the years and has the straight skinny on what will work. Yeah, it sux that STI dropped the Para stuff but what can you say?
