New To Uspsa

I'm going to try shooting USPSA soon (I'm an IDPA shooter). I'm still relatively new to the major/minor subject. I've read about how they score and all. If and when I do shoot it will be with a .40 cal, more than likely a XD40 Tactical. Is this the preferred round?

Production only scores minor, so 9mm rules that Division, although you could download a .40.

Limited and Limted 10 - 40 is the cheapest to reload and you get the most rounds in in limited.

Open a .38 variant (and yes 9mm counts too)

If you want a XD in .40, L10 is probably the most natural fit.

On the topic of using the XD40, is it legal to swap in a 9mm conversion barrel and shoot production?
