driver8M3
i loaded up a boatload of ammo (14k rounds, zero 147gr JHPs) over the winter, and i'm just now starting to use it. as i was loading up a bunch of mags yesterday i noticed that a good many FMJ rounds are mixed in...i'd guess about 5-10%. i'm so focused on the powder amount that i didnt even notice this as i was making the rounds (i usually load 500 at a time -a full box of bullets- and store each run in separate containers, they must have been mixed in with the JHPs). anyone else notice any FMJ bullets mixed in with their zero JHPs???? Vlad
Nope, I've used those heads for a while and no such thing. I wonder if you had a whole box of the wrong kind .. Do you keep all your loaded rounds in one big pile or do you box them as you go along?
driver8M3
the loaded rounds from each box of bullets are stored in separate containers, so i'm sure it wasnt a full box of the FMJs. i noticed this in 2 batches of loaded rounds (500 in each batch). i have a bunch of other batches (also 500 rounds each) that i havent checked yet. .40AET
Run the FMJ over a chronograph. They are likely slower than the JHP's. Cheers!
TimWarner
I've gone through about 6k 147gr JHP's and not ran into any FMJ's
