dbglock35 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 i just got my casefeeder for my 550. One thing i found is the spent primer catch is further away then it used to be, resulting in more than half of my spent primers flying all over the place. does anyone know of a remady for this? thanks
dillon Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Is the spent primer catcher actually moved away from the spent primer cup? I haven't seen that yet. Check the aluminum cotter key the spent primer catcher pivots on, and see if the catcher is sticking in the "have dropped a primer" position. If so, it could be the cotter pin is bent too much, causing the catcher to bind. If all else fails, replace the cotter key with a very small safety pin. this gives you a hardened steel axle for the catcher to pivot on.
dbglock35 Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 Actully, the pimers where missing the catch compleatly. I did find the problem. My decaping pin got bent somehow, and was pushing the primers out on an angle
Bones Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I also had that problem even after I replaced my pin. I found if I moved the resizing die up about half a turn (180o) the problem went away. Craig
