cottyw
How much crimp is too much? My KKM barrel likes allot of crimp and occasionally I get a flier. I pulled a couple of bullets and they have a noticeable indent but the plating is not separating from the bullet. If I don’t give the bullets a heavy crimp the gun doesn’t function reliably. Bugs Bunny
What caliber? Have several KKM's in various glocks and have never had this sort of problem with Berry's or WC plated? Own are sized as per Brian's method on his Video: case looks like an "Hour-Glass" once seated and crimped. All am really doing is removing the bell and insuring they all will case-gauge in an EGW hand-reamed guage.
HSMITH
If it needs anything other than just flattening the bell back against the bullet something is wrong.
TBF
Somewhere close to bullet diameter , plus 2X the brass wall thickness , minus .001 - .002 has worked well for me. Most brass runs .010 or so. .400 + 2X .010 = .420 I crimp .418 - .419 ( measured at the absolute edge of the case ) Just .02 Travis F.
cottyw
Guys, Thanks for the replies. It is a .40 KKM in a G35. My die is set at .420. Thanks, Will
Flexmoney
If you die is .420 and your case walls are 0.010, then you shouldn't be getting indents in your pulled bullets?
cottyw
Flex, It is a Dillon taper crimp die. Does that make a difference? Will
