GulfCoast
Pardon the (very) newbie question, but what is the purpose for the magnets that I see mounted on mag holders on shooters belts in USPSA? They appear sometimes on the belt itself, and sometimes attached to a magazine carrier? TIA!
Matt1911
It’s an easy way to quickly get the mag you just took out of the gun back on your belt so you can free your hands to complete the unload/show clear process. You can also use it for your starter mag as you make ready so your mag pouches stay full. Edited February 28 by Matt1911

Also the magnets are used as a quick way to retain magazines if a stage in competition requires all magazines on a table during the start position. Depending on the course of fire, and the division a shooter is in (8 or 10 round limit), one might have to grab as many as three extra magazines to complete a 32 round course of fire.
