Beretta 1301 comp pro

The bolt on my new 1301 comp pro doesn't lock back after firing the last round. When I cycle it manually with an empty gun .it locks back every time. The load was Winchester super target  2 3/4 ", 1150, 7 1/2. Any ideas? Maybe a heavier load? Beretta C/S forwarded my info to their gunsmith division, but after a   week, o response.

That is a light load and is not running the bolt back far enough to lock open. Try hotter ammo

Walmart super target with the steel case or super target with the brass case?  1145fps 1-1/8oz should be hot enough to fully cycle the 1301.  How new, how many rounds fired?  Temperature?  Lube?  Gas system, piston and exterior of magazine tube absolutely NO lube. As Alaskapopo posted try some other ammo, the cheap Winchester stuff is somewhat inconsistent, the brass cased ammo is much more consistent.  If the gun is brand new try several boxes of 1200 or 1250 1-1/8oz ammo and re-try the lighter ammo.

If no go, measure the wire diameter of the gas valve spring on the barrel.  If the wire diameter is smaller than 3.3mm, there are two fixes.  Replace the spring with the heavier spring from the 1301 Tac, p/n C95447 or install the A400 gas valve spacer p/n C5g164.

The weaker spring lets too much gas through the gas valve and the gun won't cycle light ammo.

Unfortunately changing the spring or installing the spacer are a pain in the butt requiring a special valve spring compression tool and spanner wrench.  Here's my post about the spring compressor I hacked together.
