I've used 3.2 of Bullseye under a 160 grain round nose seated to 1.20 in a 38 Short Colt case with a .3735 crimp for my 627 for a while. However, I've not loaded short colts or had any Bullseye since I moved.  I now have tight group

My gut says 2.9-3.0 will get me 810-825 fps, but my gut is not a good source for a heavy bullet, fast powder, small case load.

how much TG are ya'll loading under 160's in 38 Short/9mm cases?

Thanks,

Jason

Your gut is really close, its mostly going to depend on the particular gun.

I got the following with my 627, 160 BB round nose, Starline Short Colt brass, 1.2 OAL, and Aguila primers:

3.0gr Titegroup

789fps Avg

126 PF

3.2gr Titegroup

839fps Avg

134 PF

That essentially mirrors my Bullseye results.

I'll try 3.0 at 1.20.  I'll also try a few at 1.190.

Thanks Guys!

Is yours a 4 or 5 inch?  I no longer have a range at home.  I can't Chrono at the indoor range I joined.

Though I can Chrono after the Steel Challenge match tomorrow.
