Fixed Time Results In Ezwinscore

When scoring a FT classifier in EWS, it doesn't award the total available stage points to the winner of the stage like it would for any other CoF. Virginia- and Comstock-scored classifiers do. I ran a short "test" match (**ver 2.27 w/ June'05 patch) with 3 FT classifiers and 1 Virginia Count classifier (surprisingly enough, I won every stage!). Here's 2 of the 4 stage results:

Stage: 3 Tuff Enough Standards

Place Name No. Class Division Pts Pen Time Hit Fact Stg Pts Stg %

1 Mark 1 B Limited 69 0 .00 69.0000 69.0000 100.00%

Tuff Enough (FT) gives only the stage points as shot, where Riverdale (VC) gives the total to the stage winner and everyone else a portion of the total. The other 2 FT stages also awarded only the points shot to each competitor.

Just wondering why this is....

Yes, fixed time stages are pure points. What you shoot is what you get. If you have a 75 point stage like this and stage winner gets 69 points, that becomes 100% for the stage.

There was a time when you had to factor results against the total points available in the stage. Therefore, if in the same 75 pt stage, if the high shot score was 69. then I had to register a "Joe Perfect" dummy competitor and have him shoot maximum points available (75 in our example, and also DNF everything else obviously) so that everyone else would be factored against total available stage points and the 69 point result would be stage winner with a 92%. Fortunately, that all got thrown out some years back.

That is how fixed time courses are scored by rule (9.2.4.1).

Yep, already read that. Was just wondering the "why" of it. Bill's answer now makes me glad that we don't have to factor them. I score a lot of matches and don't want to jump through the "Joe Perfect dummy competitor" hoop if I don't need to. :D

Thanks all...
