hanabi
Just replaced the case insert slide and cam assembly. Now on the upstroke the slide strikes the bushing just prior to limit. On the old one the "fingers" were symmetric, and now the fat one gets in the way Could this be an assembly for the 750? Joe O
mikethebike67
I have an xl650 and an xl750 and they are different. The one on my xl750 is thicker on one side. I never realized that they were different before.
sharko
Oh that's why they are all broken. I have a 650 and a 750 and they have the same case insert slide, thicker on the left side. But the one on my 650 and two others I've found in my spares all have the left side broken off. The 750's one isn't broken. Doesn't effect performance, just wonder what broke them. hanabi
Had a feeling I received the wrong part. What do you bet the 650 one no longer exists. Since email can take "weeks" I'll be calling them. Thanks much. Joe O
ChuckS
Thanks for posting this! I have been getting stoppages every 100 to 200 rounds on my old 650. It felt like something was blocking the decapping pin or some such thing. I would just back off slightly and the problem went away. Some time back, I replaced the slide and the other parts since they were worn and the bolt insert in the slide was pulling out. I just looked and yup, it's the same as your picture. The current 750 manual shows a "13763 650 Case Insert Slide Ver 2". It looks like I got the Ver 2 also... Thanks for solving my mystery!
hanabi
Spoke to Dillon and they said the slide shown is the only one available. He asked for pictures and now I'm waiting for reply #2. My machine is first or second production run from the early 90's and I believe an incompatibility with Dillon replacement parts has reared it's ugly head. I'm going to have a neighbor mill "The Phat One" to match the other. Joe O
sharko
Well Dillon gave my a new 650 after the 750 was released so that's probably why mine are the same. Still broken on 650 and not on 750.
