Fracs
Enos, been a while:) I need some thoughts and help on an Evo set up. I currently have a pretty barebones set up. It’s missing the powder drops, priming system, as well as the CaseFeeder. Because of this, I can essentially decide what route I’d like to go with them all. First, Powder Drops…. I can roll with the MK7 droppers, Dillon, Hornaday, etc… Second, the primer system. I can go with the standard slide and stack, I can add the new apex system, or I can get the auto feed. This is a handful machine and I am honestly not going to be loading a ton on it, so really the reliability is most important, and not capacity or speed. Lastly, casefeeder…. I know the original Hornaday seemed to be a real PIA. That leads me to think that a Dillon CF makes more sense? I could also go with Apex CaseFeeder for the machine…. Again, for me is function and reliability to what I care most about with the machine. I currently have a MK7 Rev set for 9mm and it stays set for this. For the Evo I would like to run 38 super comp and 45. Looking for the MK7 owners to give some insight and recommendations on the above choices… Thanks
tmz
On the powder drop system I did have the manual Mark7 but seem to like the Dillon a little better, maybe because I’ve been using Dillon product for an awful long time and I had plenty of them on hand but the manual Mark7 Powder drop did work fine for me also. When it comes to the primer system with the Mark7 I’ve had only the slide style which works perfectly fine for me. Case feeder at least the old style for the Mark7 I was not happy with so I stuck with the Dillon which always works good for me. Here’s a pic.
