tewlman
Just noticed this at a match this weekend. Mag release was sticking out the left side of the grip much farter than it should have. Luckily the button functioned without problem. When i got home i took it out and visually i could not see anthing wrong with the relase or the grip. I installed the release form my backup pistol and it worked fine. Then i put the troubled release into my backup gun and it worked fine there. Can anyone tell me what is going on here? Crusher
Check the inside of the grip where the mag catch locking tab rides (the small grove inside the grip that the lock pin tab rotates into to hold the mag catch in the gun). There may be an area (of the grove) that is worn allowing the mag catch to "float" inside the grip. I had this occur on an old 5.1 Eagle. I wound up replacing the grip. chuckbradley
What crusher said. Sounds like the catch tab slipped over the plastic ledge it rests on , most likely from that ledge wearing. Most the time this happens when you try to install the mag catch and cant find the hole and force it.
