COMPENSATOR QUESTION: Tanfoglio Witness Elite Gold Team Custom

Hey guys,

I am considering grabbing this beast in 45acp. I live in a gun hating state that doesn't allow threaded barrels unless it is permanently attached. How is this comp attached? I did Google it and couldn't find anything solid. thanks!

EAA and J&L Gunsmithing confirmed, comps are permanently attached. Removing them would destroy the threading:

with the comp being aluminum it is unlikely that it would hurt the barrel even if whatever locktite they use damaged the comp threads upon removal. but if it says that on the Tanfoglio web page it is probably good enough for the idiots running the state.

Yes, apparently Tanfoglio silver solders their compensators. So that's good, it abides by CA standards as "permanent." J&L Gunsmithing verified it as silver solder as well.

weird, I did not know you could silver solder steel to aluminum.
