Edwards30
I am looking to buy some cheap Glock +0 baseplates and noticed some are brass while others are aluminum. Is there a benefit one way or another? It seems something like brass would ding up pretty bad whereas aluminum could end up with sharp edges from dropping it. I appreciate the feedback in advance so I don't buy twice.
shred
Either will ding up in use if you use them enough on a hard surface, but it's going to take a long time and its easy enough to knock off any sharp bits that come up. The advantage to brass is additional weight and no surface finish beyond maybe some lacquer, so you can bling them up by dropping them in the tumbler for a while or dull them down by heating them up a bit. Weight is the main reason people buy brass, and also why they aren't allowed in some divisions and sports.
pure59
As mentioned above, generally use to add weight to the magazine. You can get away from that by wiping down your magazines with silicon spray. I never have issues with stock magazines.
