rack&roll
I just got a set of Dawson adjustable FO sights for my 35. The instructions say to use red loctite #271 to install sights. The 271 red is permanant. I'm a little hesitant to PERMANANTLY glue my sights to the gun. I would like to hear what some of you who use this sight system use to keep the sights tight, but removeable. Am I being too cautious? Should I just go ahead and use the 271? Thanks! Larry

achard
Thanks atmar. Loctite color red or blue doesn't matter as long as the frong sight is stable. Using red, you can actually remove it but it's easier to remove with the blue one.
lndshrk
Instructions with my clearly said RED. Interestingly enough, it comes in a blue container.
the duck of death
I tried blue it shot loose a friend tried blue with same results. Then used 5 min epoxy. Sights stay tight and can be removed.
rack&roll
Thanks for all the feedback. After changing the tubes to green front and red rear, I dehorned the sharp (ouch!) edges, touched up the blue, and used the red loctite #271. Will shoot it Tuesday and see how it holds up.
