Meathead_67
Has anyone used the Gibbz Arms Left Handed PCC receiver set? I've heard good things about the company in general, however there are no reviews on the Gibbz site about this set. Looking for some user feedback before dropping the $ on it. Thank you. https://gibbzarms.com/product/g9-left-handed-receiver-set-with-ambi-9mm-bolt-copy/ Link to comment
gerritm
I have one with about 10K rounds and love it. Put an Odin works extended mag release and it works great. Very well made. No mag well funnel, but easy reloads. Would recommend it highly. Best thing I did was swap over to ambi even though I shoot my AR without the left mag release/safety. Really don't do any on the clock reloads with the AR, but lots on PCC classifiers. gerritm Link to comment
Meathead_67
Thank you for the feedback. If possible, could you post a pic of the Odin Works XMR you put on it? I don't see any of their products that look compatible with the Gibbz system. Thanks!! Link to comment
gerritm
Here ya go. I did drill and tap the existing mag release to attach. Used blue loctite. Been on for 10K plus rounds. https://www.odinworks.com/XMR_GEN_II_p/acc-xmr-2.htm gerritm Edited October 30, 2018 by gerritm Link to comment
MemphisMechanic
Just be aware the cheaper way to get a lefthanded AR is to run a gun with colt mags instead of Glock. It uses the standard AR-15 5.56 magazine release, so you just drop an ambi mag catch and safety into the gun. Boom. An AR perfectly set up for a lefthanded shooter. That’s the route I took. (This photo shows the ami release I stole out of an MPX. I swapped a Troy into it later on, which is the best option in my opinion.) Edited October 30, 2018 by MemphisMechanic Link to comment
