Double Tap thumb safety fitting and mag release

Two problems.

 

First, I put a PT grip (standard) on my CK open gun. The mag release off my CK limited gun with a metal grip works great in it so I ordered another for this grip. This one is wildly different, and barely clicks in (catch doesn't visibly move at all when seating a mag). I've so tried a Dawson release, same thing. I don't feel good about it and feel like it needs a little more engagement. Silver is the new one

 

Second, bought the double tap thumb safety and started to fit them. Once I got to the point both sides were in and together, I noticed that they were misaligned. Any way to fix this? Pictures show them in together (strong side sits high) and string side only (strong side sits where it should)

I would send the safeties back. There is no reason to "fix" new parts if they are not correct or to your liking.

Unfortunately I'll have to deal with the manufacturer now rather than Shooters Connection because it did take just a little filing to get them in individually.

Contacted Double Tap, sent them pictures, and they're sending me another. Good company to deal with.

You need to move the shoulder over. I had to do it on both my pt grips with Dawson mag releases.
