April 14, 2017 RO Clinic followed by match on April 15 (come both or just Sunday)

 

Saturday will be our 4th annual RO clinic. This clinic is a good refresher for anyone wanting to serve as a 3-Gun RO, but it focuses on Natural Terrain matches. We will be working under RM3G rules as well as 2-Rifle match rules, but it covers many of the RO skills talked about on the forums. There will be a little bit of shooting on Saturday and then a full Johnson 3-Gun match on Sunday.

On Saturday, we will cover scoping out a stage (as an RO), looking for RO traps, dealing with the natural terrain for 180 and safety as well as RO repairs and supplies, RO equipment and preparedness. Since RO's at a natural terrain match implies more responsibility, we will spend some time looking at that as well. Since 3-Gun is growing so quickly, we will also be looking at strategies to work with shooters that are new to this type of match. The Sunday match will be open to everyone and you can just come on out to shoot!

FEES for "local/club" matches: In general, matches are $40 for a one day match, $60 if you come to both days on a 2 day weekend!

Four stages - you will need a rifle sling. 

36-44 Pistol targets

40 Rifle targets out to 400 yds

26-34 birdshot targets

6 slugs

Kind of a refresher/skills match,

 

Sunday, March 18, 2018 2-Rifle match at Coal Canyon

4 stages - 20 precision targets (you may shoot no more than 2 at each one) out to 885 yds, 40 AR-15 targets (paper, clays or steel out to 400 yds) Paper needs 2 A's to get your full point.

Gates open at 0700. Shooter's Brief at 0800.

$40 for one day, $60 for both days.

18 birdshot, 8 pistol steel, 8 rifle steel out to 400 (need a rifle sling)

Stage 2 – 3-Gun
12 rifle steel out to 200, 4 slugs, 6 birdshot, 10 pistol steel

Stage 3 – Rifle
22 rifle steel, 8 rifle paper (not set-up yet, so things could change)

Stage 4 – Shotgun/Pistol
10 birdshot, 8 optional birdshot/pistol, 10 pistol steel
