1911 Single Stack Magwell Comparison

I'm a fan of the Techwells on my Single Stacks after using S&As for a long time. I have the TW-IPSC on my .40 and TW-SP on my 9mm.  For grips I initially started out by modding my own G-10 grips to match the locking lugs on the TW, but eventually sprang for the TW aluma grips.  When paired with an aluminum MSH they both make weight (granted the slides have been tri-topped).  I like how grippy the TW Aluma grips are.  Weight-wise, I didn't see any difference compared to G-10.

But the main reason for the different size magwells has to do with the mags.  I use the Tripp Corey mags in the .40, so the deeper TW-IPSC magwell works perfect with the longer length of the mag.  But with the standard 9mm Tripp Cobra mags unless I put taller base pads on them they aren't tall enough to use with the TW-IPSC magwell, hence the TW-SP.
