Topher3134
I like to shoot 140 grain subsonic 9mm from sellar belloit in my Glock 17L. I tried it in both my new 2011s and it seems to not like to cycle if I shoot fast or once the guns get hot. Would I be better off changing ammo or should I change springs? I use them for 3gun. Any advice would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Flatland Shooter
The manufacturer states the velocity for that ammo is 1001 fps. At 140 PF a change to a lighter recoil spring should make your gun cycle just fine. I shoot 135 PF loads with an 8# spring with 100% reliability hot or cold. Hi-Power Jack
My two TruBor's (9mm Major) will shoot factory 9mm (PF 126) with a 10 lb spring, IFF the gun is very clean and well lubed. Best to drop to an 8 lb spring
Topher3134
Awesome. Thanks for the advice. 8lb Spring is in the future. Will they still work with 115 grain bulk ammo if I change the spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Flatland Shooter
Some bulk ammo runs lower than the 125 PF. At some point you can't get any lighter a spring. (Lightest I've seen offered is 6#.)
Topher3134
That is good to know. I need to figure it out before rock castle. Not sure if I want to use my dvc limited, hex tac, or just go with my tried and true 17L! Decisions... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi-Power Jack
. I need to figure it out before rock castle +1. Don't go to a match before you have Thoroughly Tested your actual ammo in your actual gun with your actual springs. Or, you might be unpleasantly surprised at the match. I loaded up some .45 ammo, tested it in both my .45's, went to a match and it wouldn't feed (couldn't chamber a few of the rounds at COF #1). Went home. Been using the same ammo ever since, and it works perfectly, before and after the match - have no idea what happened to this day.

I changed from Winchester shotgun shells to federal and the federal would double feed out of the tube. Didn't know it till I was at the match. To say I was upset is an understatement!
