Recommended Posts

I had to chuck it in a drill and use a lapping plate to reduce the diameter for it to fit in the shellplate

question? do you mean toolhead? "reduce the diameter for it to fit in the ?

thanks

Oops... Toolhead.

It was just a hair too tight. I tapped it a few times with a wood handle and couldn't get it to seat. Took it out an spun it in a drill while holding a 1000 grit lapping plate against it. Went right in with 2 taps of a wood handle.

It works with a swage backup rod.

I am curious what a contained primer detonation could do. How do the other presses (Ammoload, Camdex) mentioned handle this?

The two primer detonations I've had on a 1050 (early in my 1050 experience) were both in sealed pockets. Each due to a primer having not been ejected off of the decapping pin and then being swaged into the primer pocket. Obviously not enough room in the primer pocket for two primers so boom. Luckily each was only a single primer detonation.
