Are the xtreme's worth the extra money?

Seems like they are nearly double the price of a base version. Are they ready to rock, no work needed, out of the box? Or am I better off getting the base model and just buying the upgrade parts.

I thinking of a stock II or III......

Short answer -neither. If you're shooting anything other than Open major go with HI-Tek coated bullets. Accurate, inexpensive and easy on the barrel.

Unless the COLOR of the frame is VERY important to you, the base version s2 or s3 with xtreme parts, owner installed, along with an owner diy polish will be BETTER than the out of the box extreme version and cheaper.

Assuming the polish and parts fitting is done according to the guides here. It's not hard, heck I was able to do it! Oh, if you have large hands, the xtreme grips may not be a good fit. For me, Henning grips are nicer.

In AUS, given pricing, I believe the Xtreme is better value.

However doing the same thing to a hard chrome model is attractive.

Build your own. My stock 2 with reduce power springs and polishing is awesome.
