Speedsouthshooting
Can anyone recommend a good load for the Steelmaster? I have hs-6 and autocomp on hand. I would prefer to save the hs-s for .38 super and use the autocomp for the 9's. I was guessing around 4.8-5.0 grains with 124 extreme round nose. Coal @ 1.12 Thanks for any input! Open1215
I love hs6 for 9 too. I load 8.5 under a 115. I really like it. I'm not sure where to start for a 124. It has the T1 comp correct? Any barrel holes?
Speedsouthshooting
No. Factory stock. I've loaded 9mm with hs-6 for major but wasn't sure where to start with light loads. Not sure the minimum pf that will cycle a Steelmaster.
Open1215
I have read of several people using major loads in them. The T1 comp is sold on some match masters as well as trubor (I think I've seen them on a trubor) Are you going for major or just for knocking down plates? echotango
5.2 wac, 1.165", 124gr MG = 131pf with a steel master & 7# spring. Was not reliable below 130pf. Edited December 15, 2015 by echotango

Open1215
Got ya. Well you could go even lighter for the bullet weight. If they haven't purchased a case of 124g yet. Get 100-250 packs of lighter bullets and see how they work. Load something like 9g 3n38 under a 90-95g bullet. Lots of gas. Even 8.0g hs6 under a 90 would probably be really flat! With no pf you could go with a very slow powder like Lil gun or N105.
