Grand Power - Anyone tried Buffalo Bore, Underwood, Doubletap or Major

Recommended Posts

9x19

SAAMI - 35,000 PSIA

CIP - 34,083 PSIA

NATO - 36,550 PSIA

SAAMI +P - 38,500 PSIA

There is no industry standard for +P+, though Winchester and Federal do state that they use 42,000 PSIA as a limit.

CIP and NATO PROOF loads hover around 46,000 PSIA.

The Glock 17 and 19, along with a bunch of other 9x19 pistols, will safely shoot +P+ loads, but with increased wear.

Interestingly S&W M&P's don't seem to be either:

Plus-P” (+P) ammunition generates pressures in excess of the
pressures associated with standard ammunition. Such pressures
may affect the wear characteristics or exceed the margin of safety.
Use of “Plus-P” ammunition may result in the need for more
frequent service.

“Plus-P-Plus” (+P+) ammunition must not be used in Smith &
Wesson firearms. This marking on the ammunition designates that
it exceeds established industry standards, but the designation
does not represent defined pressure limits and therefore such
ammunition may vary significantly as to the pressures generated
and could be DANGEROUS.

I pick up the Grand Power K100 9mm today...finally! Due to rain I won't be able to do any shooting until Christmas Eve or Day. I plan on breaking it down tonight for a cleaning and to get some pictures of case support with a round inserted vs a Witness and Springfield barrel.
