L8ASUSL
As the title states my seat / crimp die is cutting though the coating when removing the bell from the case. It is happening just as I get the bell out at (.378). These are the first coated bullets I have loaded and can't get it figured out. Is it because its a 9mm die? Any help will be greatly appreciated. thermobollocks
That's a typical side effect of seating and crimping at the same time. You should not be doing that thing. If your .38 special seater die goes down far enough, you can use that while removing the seating plug from your 9mm crimp die.

PatJones
On order to seat/crimp in the same die your lead bullets need a cannelure.
thermobollocks
I'm still on the hunt for a true round nose with a cannelure.

longbarrel
I like coated bullets but seating and crimping in same die doesn't work well for me either. I can get away with it on hard, plain cast lead but still prefer to separate the two.
