dcalvert
What is the safe way to dispose of rejected bullets, Primers and powder?
Carlos
I take rejects to NRA range and dump in the "Duds" can. If you have exposed primers (like those put in backwards - not htat I have ever made that mistake or anything) put a drop of light oil in the primer - it is supposed to deactivate the primeing compound. I use Kroil. Never had one of those so oiled go off. I pull down mistakes & recover the components (except primers of course).
Sheldon
I keep seeing posts about guys that actually soak the primers in oil of some type or another and still being able to fire them off......even after soaking for extended periods of time. Maybe loading them up into trash brass and actually firing them off would be the most sure way to get rid of them? I've heard that sprinkling the powder into your lawn is good for the soil. I wouldn't try to get rid of that old 8 lb keg on a small lawn with smokers around though. How about some cardboard tubes and cannon fuses for homemade M-80's..........yeah, that's the ticket!!!!
