fischeac
Just picked up a factory SP01 Shadow (cz 91154). Shot it yesterday and I am hooked. Can someone tell me what the main spring and recoil spring weights are on my gun? Its brand new from the factory and the descriptions I have read all just state "reduced power main and recoil spring." Would like to know what they are so I can decide whether or not to purchase even lighter springs to try out.
bafsu92
I'm not positive but I think it's a 15# hammer spring & 13# recoil spring. You want your hammer spring between 11.5-13# if you're running the (CZC or CGW) extended firing pin and want to set off any primer (your results may still vary with the 11.5# and certain primers. My gun sets them all but others have reported different results) if you don't run an extended FP you want no lower than 13#. For recoil spring on my first Shadow, now my backup that I did all the work on I run a 10# but on my CGW built full competition package it has a 12#. David at CGW said as long as it ran good with that (and it does) there's no need to go lower and your gun takes much less of a beating. I've got 10, 11 & 12# springs in my bag and 8.5, 11.5 & 13# hammer springs. I'll try out different combos with different loads just to see what may work and to definitely find what won't. bigdave24
I'm not positive either, but if cz custom worked it over, it probably has a 13 lb hammer spring and 11 lb recoil spring.
