I've always liked VV's burn chart. It lists 7625 as being between 320 & 330, but definetly slower than 231. Seems like more accurate info than IMR is putting out.

But hey, what do you care about 7625, you need to run the Limited gun so you can get the GM card :D

That's more like it, but I didn't realize it was similar to N340, HS-6, etc. I thought it was slower. But faster than N330 on Viht's chart? No way.

There's gotta be something weird about these charts, like they just use manufacturer provided data from 1943 when they were using some wild measurement scheme.

I tried 7625 in my new .38 Super and I like it. But I cleaned the gun and put it in the safe to concentrate on Limited for Costa Rica and maybe Ecuador.

Burn Chart

Erik, this is the largest chart that I have seen. Someday I hope to find 2 charts that are at least relatively the same. This one lists 7625 as #40 on the list.

Hell of a chart!

I notice 1. R-1 (Norma) 2. N310 (Vihtavuori) - I know some use N310 in some pistol loadings. The Norma site shows everything as rifle powders. Is Norma ever used as a pistol powder?

Norma R1 is about the fastest there is. You have to be real careful what you use it in. 32S&W Long for bullseye is a good choice.

SR7625 is listed on a couple of tables at about the same as Unique / Universal.

Slightly slower than 700X and WST but faster than WSF, Herco and Vectan A1.
