Therealkoop
Ive been loading Nosler 69g CC's to 2.255 for longer range targets lately. However, 1 out of every 20 cartridges are too long to fit comfortably in the mag. This is due to the bullet OAL variances in these hollow points. Measuring to the ogive gives very consistent results. What do you do to remedy this? Trim the tips? Seat deeper?
Hi-Power Jack
I'd seat them a little deeper, so they all fit. Unless that increases pressure unacceptably or destroys accuracy - then I'd try a different bullet.
dauntedfuture
There is no advantage to attempting to seat a 69g closer to the lands. You should seat them deep enough so that they all sit nice and comfortable in the magazine with a few .001 to spare.
