Is Gold Team the right choice

I would like to set up a Steel/Limited type gun to use with a red dot.

Considering Limited 40 or Gold Team 40.

I currently load 9mm minor and 40 major/minor.

Don't think I wont to go to SC or 9mm Major since I love reusing range brass and am not organized enough to properly track HOT load brass.

Will the Gold Team comp have measurable effect with 9mm? 40sw?

A used Limited should be around $900, a Gold team around 1100.

Hope that people with great experience with both can share their wisdom.

If you just want to dabble in Open a Limited in 9mm or 40 would be great with light loads and a cmore. Getting a Limited in 40 would serve you well if you decide to take the dot off and stick to Limited, but the 9mm Limited would be best if you eventually want to build it into a custom Open gun :cheers:

With my .40 Gold Team loaded with a Rainier 135gr. FN over 8gr. of Auto comp, I can shoot 1" groups at 12 yards with very quick sight acquisition. By the time I'm aiming at the next steel plate, the gun has settled and the red dot is back on target. I can shot steel plates extremely fast with it. With the Gold Team, I'm just a tick slower at hitting the plates as compared to my Volquartsen Mark III .22 race gun.
