As for: There also wasn't a lot of doubt about who pulled the trigger. More about whether he was culpable or not. That type of trial is always going to go a lot quicker than a who done it. Remember the Phil Spector trial? Sometimes knowing who done it actually slows everything down because of all the defense maneuvering.
