I suspect you would blow a bunch of unburnt powder out of a 5" barrel and you wouldn't make much velocity, but the gas volume should be awesome right? bikerburgess Posted October 1, 2014 Share Posted October 1, 2014 If the powder is leaving the barrel unburnt then it is not making any gas, I think the best bet is to find a powder that gives a high charge weight and still burns close to fully before leaving the barrel. I did some testing with 296 Winchester (H110) in my 357sig but could not get enough in the case to make major with a MG 115 JHP but I did get to 155 PF and it was super soft shooting. Hodgdon lists little gun at up to 14 grains behind a 125 gr fmj so I would imagine its pretty dense and may be a good place to start testing Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
