wide45 Posted January 30, 2015 Share Posted January 30, 2015 Key is the word "unable", you can't just ask to take the penalty, if you could reasonably complete all portions of the stage. It's up to the RM's judgement, but no good RM will let an able-bodied competitor take the penalty to up their hit factor. 10.2.10 Special penalty: A competitor unable to fully execute any part of a course of fire due to incapacity or injury may, prior to making his attempt at the course of fire, request that the Range Master apply a penalty in lieu of the stated course requirement.
