Newbie Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 I for the life of me can't figure out how to get to get the guide rod out of the slide. I put the paper clip in and removed the slide but can't get the guide rod out to remove the barrel from the slide Boy do I feel stupid Can anyone help? Brazos Custom Posted January 17, 2005 Share Posted January 17, 2005 Once you have the slide off, roll the barrel link to the back and then slide the entire guide rod/plug assembly towards the back and lift out. The head on the guide rod might have to be rotated a little to get it out , normally you want the scallop towards the barrel. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The "round" side of the guide rod has to face the barrel when the rod/spring/plug assembly are going in or out. And the barrel link has to be upright (rearward).
