Rokihsa
So I am making the move to Major in limited with a Glock 35 from minor with a Glock 34. With the invaluable information on these boards I have come up with the following loads for .40 tests and need some help correcting if I am off: All will be with BB 180 (coated) grains loaded at 1.135 OAL CFE Pistol - 5.1 grains start - 5.6 grains finish N320 - 4.0 grains start - 4.5 grains finish WST 4.2 grains start - 4.6 grains finish Titegroup - 4.1 grains start - 4.4 grains finish I am looking at loading 10 at every .2 and checking case and primer every shot. The question is does anyone see anything that might blow up in my hand? I will post results hopefully this weekend.
kellymc
Looks like you have done you homework on the last 3. On the wst you might make major before the 4.

Sparky
I use both N320 and WST and have had good luck with both in my STI 5 inch Limited. My match load is 4.4 grains of N320 behind a Zero 200 gr bullet (171pf). My practice load is 4.4 grains of WST behind the same bullet. I use WST for practice because its cheaper than N320, but I do not use it in matches because its a inverse powder. The Glock 35 barrel is 5.3 inches, so that might help a little and I've never loaded 180 gr bullets. But I think you are ok pressure wise with both of these powders, especially at the starting point. b1gcountry
Yeah, for wst and 180 gr, start near 4.4. My 180 gr BBL load used that, and was well shy of major

Rokihsa
All strings were 10 rounds. I only listed the first 5 to save some editing that would have to be done to make it readable. All were recorded using Chronograph Log - http://on-core.com/chronographlog on an Iphone and Temp was sitting around 85 when we were shooting. Looking over my loads I can see all of them I need to bump up .1-.2 grains except the Titegroup load which was right on time. It also looks like my N320 load needs to bump at least .3 grains to reach Major PF with these bullets.
mjohn
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Nice work Rokihsa. Thanks for sharing. I only wish your testing was with a 180 Zero bullet. Sorry for me.
Rokihsa
Thanks for the input. Should give a good starting point for those. CFE pistol is giving me headaches though as I haven't figured out if it was just not measuring well or not. tac_driver
just want to add a note: WST is reverse temperature sensitive the cooler the temp the faster the FPS Good workup and data
Howa4au
Interesting to see the differences in how many grains to make PF with different COL's. I just tested some BBI 180's today with WST and CFE but out of an Edge at 1.180. Here's what I got: 5.6 Gr CFE 5.0 Gr WST Av 960 AV 970 ES 38 ES 26 SD 10 SD 8 172 PF 174 PF
Howa4au
For my M&P Pro I am loading at 1.16 and with 4.7 grains of WST I can make 169 PF as well as with 4.5 grains of Solo. BTW- the 5 grains of WST in the Edge today came out a little hotter than it has in the past. Not sure why as it was hot today and WST is reverse temp sensitive- although the rounds came out of an air conditioned truck and promptly fired through the chrono
