mhearn
The SMM3G Rules say the steel at the match will be calibrated minor with a 9mm shooting factory ammo. What is a safe assumption on pf for this? I'm playing with a .40 load at a pf of 140. Does that sound safe for this match? MHearn
Chuck Anderson
Shouldn't be a problem at all. Most factory 9mm runs in the 125-135 range. A lot of people run 9mm or downloaded 40 and I've never heard anyone having a problem.
BillL223
I would worry about my rifle ammo knocking 300+ yard steel in a breeze. Although I have done it with 52 gr, I would use no less then 69s now.
SinistralRifleman
16" and 14.5" barrels do sometimes have a hard time knocking down the steel farther out (especially the larue targets)....20" barrels with the extra few hundred feet per second usually do ok. If you have access to LaRue targets practice shooting them at longer distances, those ones are always a pain.
