meatsauce
I have a new compensator I'm anxious to put on. Can I reuse the crush washer I have or go with new? I'm pretty new to the AR so I'm full of questions. I couldn't find an answer to this though.
Curse13
You can, but probably won't be able to. Depends mainly on your comp. most comps have to be "timed," meaning the side/top ports need to be oriented the correct direction to push the gas the correct direction and make the comp work like it's designed. If you use the old one it probably won't allow you to line them up properly, but you can try. I would get a couple new ones.
Rob1125
It is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would use a new crush washer or a peel washer to get your comp properly timed.
wgj3
Perfectly fine to reuse. It's nothing but an adjustable spacer. It may not "crush" as well the second time around, but you can adjust the thickness of the washer with a little fine sandpaper until the comp clocks correctly. meatsauce
Thanks. I ordered a couple to be on the safe side. If I'm looking at it straight on, finger tight its at 4 o'clock and I need to go to around 11 o'clock. Any problems turning it that far with a new crush washer? Rob1125
That won't be a problem. I've gone almost a full turn in the past.
